How to build up different email footers?

In the current Marketo email settings, we have only one option for footer editing with unsubscribe link. However we want to give the audience different choices to unsubscribe based on what messages we are sending to them.

 For instance,
  • Newsletter
  • Event invitation
  • Training invitation
  • Other specific topics
This subscription should not affect the general “unsubscribe” for all emails, which means:

1. for those who unsubscribed all emails, they will not receive our emails by all means
2. for those who just want to unsubscribe any of the above emails, they should have the option to unsubscribe it but still subscribed for other emails.

In the past we managed this by setting the above emails as “operational email” so the default “unsubscribe all” footer is gone but we built a separate footer with dedicated unsubscribe links in those emails. Then we remove the “unsubscribed all” contacts from the smart list to ensure the unsubscribed (Email Opt Out) contacts will not receive them.

But is there any a smart way that we can manage directly from Marketo which offers us flexibility to choose different footers with different unsubscribe links?

Using snippets to define dynamic content would be an option.

Re: How to build up different email footers?

Thank you Breno,

This article is really helpful. However it can help us to build up dynamic content with segmentations and snippets, but looks like it has nothing to do with the basic email settings on the "admin" page: there is no "snippet" or "token" function for setting up the unsubscribe html and text for the email footer.

In my view, there is no such magic tool to build up dynamic footer unless we make it "operational email" and add our own dynamic foorter as part of the content.

Or you have better idea?
