How do i remove a lead from the smart campaign of a nurture campaign

Hello,

We have different smart campaign tracks in a nurture campaign.
I want to remove a lead from one of the smart campaigns. 
I clicked on the Qualified leads tab of the smart campaign, selected that lead, clicked on the " Lead Actions ", moved the cursor to " Special " & then clicked on " Remove from Flow " and then clicked on the smart campaign name from where it had to be removed.

But it did not happen... That lead is still there in the smart campaign.

How do I remove that lead from the smart campaign ?

By using "remove from flow", the lead is removed from the flow, meaning that he won't get any nurturing emails in this flow. He's still a member of this smart campaign, and I don't think you can remove it.

The Remove from Flow action only works on leads that are "Campaign Members" and have entered the Flow of the smart campaign.  It does not affect "Qualified Leads".  You would need to change the filters in your the Smart List of the smart campaign to remove someone from the Qualified Leads list.

But my understanding is : Campaign members are the leads that have already run through the campaign flow. It does not make sense to " remove someone from flow " in the campaign members list as they have already run through the whole flow process.

On the other hand, Qualified leads are the leads who got qualified for the campaign by its smart list, but haven't entered the flow yet. And that's how we can remove leads from here because they have not run through the flow yet.

I think you are right.

Marketo should have this option of removing the lead completely from the smart campaign though. It is really confusing.
How can I be sure that this lead won't get the emails in this nurturing flow if the lead is still shown to be a part of the smart campaign.

Campaign members can include leads that may not be completely through the flow (i.e. in a wait step).  You would use the Remove from Flow action after the Wait flow action, but before subsequent flow actions.  The Remove from Flow action would typically have a Choice that checks to see if they still qualify to move through the remaining flow actions and if not, it would remove them from "this campaign"; otherwise it would "-- Do Nothing --".
