I use an advanced text editor (such as Notepad++) to code templates in, then simply paste the code into Marketo once I'm done. This way, you get useful features such as line numbers, syntax highlighting, auto-completion etc. Plus, you can test it locally without fear of breaking the draft code in Marketo.
