Unless there is a way to accomplish this without using some sort of jQuery or Javascript, I don't think this is possible. Most email clients disable jQuery/Javascript for security reasons. For the most part, email is a static content-delivery mechanism. You could always email them a link to a page with the live Twitter stream on it.
