Good Afternoon,
I am identifying variance among the email link performance click total for an individual email, when viewing the same exact link report at a different/later date. I typically pull the click total from the email link performance report 10 days after an email send and record that click total. But when looking at the same report 1-3 months later, that click total has decreased drastically. See below for a couple examples:
Example 1
Email sent on 12/9/16 – renders 2,444 clicks within link report pulled on 12/19/16
Go back and view the same report on 3/7/17 (with same report timeframe) and now the click total renders 929 clicks
Example 2
Email sent on 1/13/17 – renders 2,072 clicks within report pulled on 1/23/17
Go back and view the same report on 3/7/17 (with same report timeframe) and now the click total renders 1,191 clicks
Example 3
Email sent on 2/3/17 – renders 736 clicks within report pulled on 2/3/17
Go back and view the same report on 3/7/17 (with same report timeframe) and now the click total renders 168 clicks
As you can see there is pretty consistent variance here. Is there anything we can point to that can explain why these totals decrease within the same exact report over time? Is the initial click total from an email link performance report artificially high and reaches an equilibrium later on? Or some other reasoning behind this?
Any insight here would help.
Thanks,
Cam
Hi Cam,
Can you upload screenshots of your setup, smart list and report tabs? Blur out anything necessary, of course.
Thanks!
