Duplicate record created when someone changes their email address

Hello-

After cleansing my database at the source and in Marketo, I noticed each morning my possible duplicate email list doubles. We looked into it and noticed that lead information was sent from our CRM (not SalesForce), a record was created in Marketo, then the person would change their email address. When this happened, the Munchkin would create another lead with the new email address. Our data syncs nightly so then the record from our CRM is updated with the new email addres resulting in two leads in Marketo with the exact same email address.

Has anyone else noticed this? Do you have anything in place to help with this besides manually merging the leads every day?

Hi Kelsey,

We have has this a couple of time to, I imagine it won't happen very often.

As far as I know you will have to manually merge these leads.

Our website requires email address login so I would imagine this would affect people with login on their website more. We have about 20 every day.
