Dedupe solutions for MSD

Hi All,

I am researching on the best dedupe solutions and strategies in a Marketo-Dynamics environement.

I understand that it is not possible to dedupe in Marketo 2 records that are synchronized with Dynamics. Is this correct?

If so, dedupe solutions working in Marketo will only be able to work max one of the duplicate records is in MSD.

What other alternatives have you been looking at?

This is correct, Greg.  Which is why we, too, are looking for a vendor who has a solution for this since we are currently dealing with thousands of duplicates as a result of our purposeful duplicate process; and based on how Sales uses CRM incorrectly today.

It seems incredible that, in 2017, Marketo or not, no good dedupe for MS Dynamics exists on the Market...

Grégoire Michel​ The approach I have had to take a few times now is to identify dupes in Dynamics, then delete those records in Dynamics, and then delete the linked Marketo record.

When you go ahead and delete the Microsoft record you then can see that the Microsoft record was deleted in Marketo, and delete it in Marketo.

Unfortunately this has the consequence of loosing all the activity history in both Marketo and Dynamics for the record(s) sacrificed.

If anyone has a better approach, I am all ears!

Why aren't you merging the records in Dynamics, which should normally merge them in MArketo as well?

Yeah, that's what we do.  In fact, we never delete in CRM - we deactivate.
