Contact record from SFDC to Marketo to website to CVENT

I have an event program which is synced to SFDC.  When we send our email campaigns to the members of the program, the call to action is a click to a specific even detail page on our website. When a user clicks from the website landing page and then clicks on the register button it will take them to the Cvent registration page, we'd like to know who they are.  We'd like to have a few fields' worth of information on the user (firstname, lastname, Salesforce ID), so we can pass that to Cvent and make their registration smoother. The main issue is the duplication of records being passed to SFDC.

Is this possible to do?  Any suggestions?  Has anyone done this successfully, or can offer an alternate method.

Michelle, why not have them register using a Marketo form on your landing page?  That would eliminate duplicates and you'd be able to capture all the info you want.  We started doing that with GoToWebinar and it works quite well.

Hi Elliott,

I actually considered doing as you suggested above by having them fill out a register form, but the main problem is when it comes to having them  pay for the conference, the payment acceptance is done through CVENT.  How did you get around the payment acceptance?
