Connecting Marketo and AEP - Missing Person Data

Hi Everyone,

We're in the process of implementing AEP and integrating it with Marketo. I followed the steps outlined in Set up Adobe Organization Mapping | Adobe Marketo Engage with least privileged required noted in the doc:

  • Read-Only Activity
  • Read-Only Assets
  • Read-Only Campaign
  • Read-Only Company
  • Read-Only Custom Object
  • Read-Only Custom Object Type
  • Read-Only Named Account
  • Read-Only Named Account List
  • Read-Only Opportunity
  • Read-Only Person
  • Read-Only Sales Person

I also did the steps in Set up Adobe Organization Mapping | Adobe Marketo Engage.

Our AEP implementation team set up the source connector on their side with the Marketo credentials. However, they're reporting that they are unable to see any Persons data from Marketo, but are able to see the Activities data. They think it has something to do with the permissions on the Marketo side that's causing this, but I have looked through the documentation and don't see what's missing. Anybody else experience this problem before? Any advice on what to check would be greatly appreciated.

Did you check with your AEP team if they select the person data set ? They might only select activity data from Marekto connector

@Kana_Ng

Did you check the data integration between AEP and Marketo is set up correctly. Sometimes, specific fields or data types might not be mapped properly, which could lead to missing person data.

Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot:

  1. Check Data Mapping: Ensure that all relevant fields from Marketo are correctly mapped to AEP. This includes fields like email, name, and any other person-specific data you need.

  2. Verify API Permissions: Make sure that the API permissions in Marketo are configured to allow AEP to access person data. Sometimes, permissions might be set to only allow activity data.

  3. Review Data Flow: Check the data flow settings in AEP to ensure that person data is being ingested correctly. There might be a configuration issue that's preventing this data from being processed.

  4. Look for Errors: Check the logs in both AEP and Marketo for any error messages that might indicate why person data isn't being transferred.

If you've checked all these and the issue persists, it might be helpful to reach out to the support teams for both AEP and Marketo. They can provide more specific guidance based on your setup.
