Did you ever get an answer from support about this? I'm having a similar issue. When I was building the campaign I could select the email within other smart campaigns such as a triggered campaign to identify clicks, however, when I assign the email to the email program its as if the email doesn't exist outside of that email program. Let me know what support told you.
I never did get an answer from support. But I still had the issue in the email send program. I went around it by using visited landing page as the trigger instead that the email link directed to in order to get around this. The functionality lost with Email Sends is why we've moved away from using Email Send programs and tend to use Email Blasts in the default program. If you do hear from Support on this, please let me know!
That's a good work around. I was hoping not to have to do something like that. This email has a lot of different links. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks
We're still waiting on Marketo support but we figured something out.
When an email is assigned to an email program it disappears to the rest of Marketo. However, after the email is sent it is renamed to date/time(we did an a/b test of date and time so that might be why) and can be found throughout Marketo, so weird. It has the path of the program name and everything but it shows date/time. We're adjusting our clicks link in email trigger to identify the email by email name contains. That should work
I'll let you know what support says whenever they get back to us.
Not sure if you're still waiting for a response, but it looks like emails within Email Programs aren't available to other Smart Campaigns or programs.
I'm trying to trigger actions off of Opens and Clicked Links, so I have to forego any a/b testing. I don't understand why Marketo would block off any further actions from a/b tests.
I just want the same A/B testing in regular programs, that the Email Program uses. Champion/challenger is not an option for us since it can't be used for batch campaigns.
