Can we reference custom .js file within landing pages?

We use custom javascript on all of our landing pages that use a form.  I'd like to use a common reference to a hosted .js file rather than change every landing page each time a modification is required to the javascript.  Can we host these files within the Marketo environment or do we need to host them on our web environment (and reference them from within the custom HTML)?

Yes, you can upload js files to your Images and Folders node in Design Studio and use them on LPs.  Here's an example -

I've hosted them in both places--the only thing to keep in mind is that Marketo won't call any external .js or .css files in preview mode. You have to approve the page and check the live version to make sure your script is working.
