Great to see this frequently requested feature make it into the product! This has been a long time in coming and I'm excited to see it realised in the product.

Some quick questions.

1. It seems to me that you can not add this token as a link to text or images. We have a calendar icon which is linked to the calendar file. Should I create a new idea for this?

2. Can you add HTML/images to the calendar file? We currently copy our confirmation email, including formatting & images, to our calendar files. Is/Will this be supported?

Tech support just notified me and I confirmed that the issue I was having with clicking the Calendar File link displaying a page with a 404 error and no ICS file downloaded has been fixed!

My campaign manager says she's unable to use any ascii character in the description. Hyphens, etc.. No á ç ë ñ.

@Cheryl

Yes, I copied & pasted my details out of notepad and still got the funky characters in my email. It's something that I can easily work around, but figured you should know about.

Ah, my Campaign Manager put a space in the token Event Time, see it there? It prevented all the other tokens from resolving.

I will create a ticket for support, but the tokens within my calendar file are not resolving.

Here's my calendar description:

Link naar webinar: {{member.webinar url}}

{{my.Event Title}} {{my. Event Time}}

Here's what I get in the ICS file:

Link naar webinar: {{member.webinar url}}
{{my.Event Title}} {{my. Event Time}}

I have logged this with support but in case anyone else is having this problem... when I click the token's link in my email, I still get an "OOps, page not found" error.

@Amber - are you cutting and pasting from MS Word?  If so, can you try from notepad?  MS Word is pulling over "smart quotes" and the plain text does not know how to interrupt this and puts in the garbarge characters you are seeing.

I'm having similar issue on using tokens inside the text area.

Did both a test email and smart campaign to send me the email.
  • The test email just displayed the token {{my.Live-Event Name:default=edit me}}
  • The campaign email did not display the value of the token.

The cloning issue did not get patched last night as I had expected.  The plan is to patch today.

Here is my problem that I'm getting with the way the you are adding text for the calendar email. My characters are all messed up causing me to not be able to copy/paste my reg confirmation into the calendar box. An example of what I would get is below.

Here is some important information you will need to attend the live webinar:
·         Click here to join the webinar on Thursday, March 28 at 2 p.m. ET: {{member.webinar url}}
·         Important: Be sure to check which time zone you’re in so you don’t miss out on valuable information.
·         You will be connected to audio using your computer’s microphone and speakers (VoIP).  A headset is recommended, but you will not need a microphone.
·         If you prefer, you can select “Use Telephoneâ€ after joining the webinar:

Is this a bug that is known and I have to work around just not including any " or ' in my email?

My campaign manager says she tested it and that the cloning issue was not yet resolved.

Cheryl - my emails include a link (text) and an icon (graphic). This is an engagement tactic, we believe these types of links should be both visual & text based. Under the current setup I'd need one Calendar file for each type. The likelihood that errors occur between two nearly identical files is much higher than only a single one. I'd consider this choice to make the link text/image embedded into this widget very seriously. I don't think it provides best service yet.

Cheryl, I submitted a ticket and the response was that my issue is part of a larger problem that your engineers are currently working on.

Cloning issue has been identified and is being fixed.  We hope to push the patch tonight.

@Elliot - can you give support a call so they can document the steps you are taking?  I am not able to reproduce this issue on my end but will keep trying.

Whew, I am glad I am not the only one experiencing these problems. If I click on the calendar link it leads me to an unfound webpage, and when I try to clone I get an error.

I just created an email and added the {{my.Save the Date}} token.  The token has the HTML statement below in the Hyperlink Text field of the Edit Calendar File dialog box of the Save the Date My Token.

<img src="http://ww2.conductor.com/rs/conductor2/images/Add%2520Button.png" alt="Add to Calendar" />

In the sent email, the button displays beautifully and the link is decorated with the Marketo tracking code, but when I click the button a web page is opened at the URL (http://na-f.marketo.com/rs/conductor2/60/Conductor) with a 404 error and no ICS file is downloaded.  The URL looks incomplete.  I also tried this with "Save the Date" in the Hypertext Link field, and the link still displays a web page with a 404 error.

Any idea what is causing this?

@Jason - did you send yourself a real email to see if they resolved or was it just through send test?

I'm not a Support Contact and tried to email it in but it's been kicked back...I'll try to get it logged today.
