We're in the process of a complete website redesign on a Sitecore CMS platform. Ideally, we would like to integrate all social activity (e.g., sharing of our pages) into Marketo - and leverage the enhanced social analytics. This would be integrated into our site's common social toolbar on every page (we would use enhanced CSS to stylize it to our site).
Since a separate social share/button is required within each program to effectively measure the effectiveness of each content, we're stuck on what to do for those pages that don't have a program associated with it in Marketo. Has anyone been faced with this challenge in the past?
This is a limitation in Marketo where we can not generate a universal sharing snippet and implement it. However, with custom coding, you can achieve some level of reporting. Create a social sharing snippet in a universal program and then implement this using JS on each page. In your JS code, you will have to pass some additional parameters and store in MKTO custom fields to track engagement. These fields can be then used in building custom reports in Analytics.
