Auto copy internal employees on email?

Auto copy internal employees on email?

Hi - is there a way to auto send every email that we send from Marketo to certain internal people. I know we could do this via adding them as a smart list into every email flow but that gets easily forgotten...

Thanks

The BCC setting in Admin - Email could be an option.

James, there isn't a specific method to do this.  Would you explain your use case in more detail?  There might be some other options that will provide the same outcome. -Steven

Breno, where is this option?  I don't see it in the admin section.

Hi - basically we have a few guys who create the HTML and they just want to check that all looks ok when the email goes out so want to auto copy them. Breno - I couldnt see this option either?

If you're sending a large email blast, typically you would send to a seed list as well.  It is easy to forget, especially when there aren't popup reminders as in some other tools, but typically companies I work with resolve this by establishing a checklist or every email send and ensuring everyone follows it.

We tried the option that Breno recommended and found that it quickly blew up the inbox because it CC: EVERY email send. So it doesn't work as an one-off for each blast, but sends to the BCC: every time and email is sent. It would be helpful to have this functionality to automatically add someone to a seed list, rather than having the user add them.

I've used seed lists in the past... included all marketing folks and sent that out ~1hr before the email was scheduled in case anyone caught mispellings, issues, etc.

Re: Auto copy internal employees on email?

Hi Ben,

To keep tabs on emails that are going out, I've used the "Send Alert" function. I just add that to the flow step, in addition to sending the email, and set it to go to me. It's kind of like BCC'ing myself.

This way, I see the exact email, what AE it came from, who it went to and what it said.

I think my situation, while very different, has some similarities. The emails I'm keen on watching are being triggered from our proprietary call prospecting software via an API to Marketo. Coming through the API are the values that will fill the tokens in the email, primarily: Lead name, AE name and AE email.

I like to watch the emails coming through and spot check to make sure there is accuracy here as we have had a few bugs in the past.

While I would agree to test the emails with your HTML crew before hand, this may work to enable them to keep tabs on the emails as they go out. I know it's worked well that way for me!

Re: Auto copy internal employees on email?

James was right asking the use case before posting an answer.

I had the (wrong) impression the goal was a plain BCC which is not the most suitable option after your clarification.

The seed list is really the safest route.
