Re: Marketing Automation ROCKSTAR needed Awesome Culture Guarenteed

Is it just me, or is just downright strange to see Infusionsoft, a Marketo competitor, posting for a position in the Marketo community?  I get it - you want to find someone who has marketing automation skills - but this just seems, well, weird.

Re: Marketing Automation ROCKSTAR needed Awesome Culture Guarenteed

I completely understand your comment Damian.  In my opinion, Infusionsoft and Marketo are not competitors.

Marketo serves the upper end of the “S” in SMB along with mid-market and enterprise clients.  With a Marketing Automation price point starting at $1,195/mo, this becomes clear as to Marketo’s intention on who their target client is.

Marketo is a fantastic solution for mid-market and enterprise companies that need a mid-market or enterprise marketing automation solution coupled with their CRM.

Infusionsoft on the other hand serves what some would call “micro small businesses” with 2-10 employees and $100k - $5M in annual revenue.  Infusionsoft’s solution is the gateway for small businesses to get into marketing automation at a price point ($199/mo) that they can afford.

The way I see it, startups begin with point solutions like AWeber+Zoho, then as they become successful, graduate into an all-in-one (CRM+Marketing Automation+eCommerce) solution like Infusionsoft.  Once they have 50-100+ employees and $5M - $10M in annual revenue, they graduate to a mid-market or enterprise solution like Marketo + Salesforce.

From the outside looking in, I can totally understand your point-of-view.  In my eyes, Infusionsoft and Marketo actually are part of the same journey the customer takes towards their big hairy audacious goal.

Hope that clarifies our position in the market as it relates to Marketo.

P.S.  Do you know anyone that would be a good fit for the above position at Infusionsoft?  😉
