THIS ROLE:
The ideal Marketing Automation Manager will have experience creating the strategy, establishing best practice operations, executing and measuring campaign success within a marketing automation platform. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, energetic, high-growth environment driven by a test-and-learn culture to marketing success. You are very analytically and operationally focused. You have demonstrable experience implementing fully-integrated direct/digital marketing campaigns driven-by delivering results at all stages of the purchase funnel. You are very organized and able to manage a range of campaigns at once. These campaigns may often be fluid so you are flexible and tolerant of shifting priorities. An ideal candidate is process-driven, has an eye for detail, and can utilize automation technologies to show profitable marketing results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute email, direct mail, SMS and other demand generation and customer communications campaigns using marketing automation
- Work with a variety of teams to translate marketing requirements into functional campaigns within marketing automation, CRM and other marketing technologies
- Serve as the in-house marketing automation expert to support all lines of Viasat business (B2C, B2B, B2G)
- Build testing frameworks (split testing, deliverability and tracking) for continuous optimization of engagement and conversion rates. Ensure adaptive learning from past campaigns to guide future marketing campaigns
- Define and manage the customization of the marketing automation platform including business rules, scoring, multi-touch nurture, profiling, segmentation, workflows, 3rd-party integrations and reporting
- Support email deliverability, database hygiene, subscription management and compliance with opt-in laws and regulations
- Define, implement, maintain and document marketing automation best practices including list management, optimization, data quality, hygiene and troubleshooting
- Understand the bi-directional data structures with Salesforce.com for data integration; work with Salesforce administrators to coordinate integration with CRM; work with marketing platforms to troubleshoot issues and provide team support
- Lead the creation and management of dashboards and closed loop reporting integrated with the sales database that tracks: campaign effectiveness, prospect engagement, funnel advancement, scoring optimization, lead conversion and customer retention
- Work with Analytics team to analyze all lead generation campaigns; identify opportunities for campaign optimization and areas in the pipeline requiring additional marketing support
Requirements
SKILLS YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Experience with delivering campaigns for a B2C and/or B2B technology, services or subscription-based advertiser
- Excellent working knowledge of CRM / Automation tools – Salesforce and Marketo experience
- Marketing automation platform implementation and configuration best-practices
- Solid knowledge of integrated marketing strategies, lead generation and conversion rate optimization best practices that drive lead conversion and customer retention
- Experience with email marketing & email campaign management best practices
- Strong data analytics experience with ability to create, analyze and provide insights from reporting in Salesforce and Marketo or similar platforms
- Problem solving ability and consideration of process improvements
- Excellent organizational and communications skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work across departments and divisions, building consensus and delivering upon stated objectives
Preferences
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business/Marketing Operations or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years’ experience using Marketo or similar marketing automation platform
- Marketo certification highly preferred
- Salesforce or related CRM experience is a plus
- Web development and digital design skills (HTML preferred, but not required)
- Knowledge of Google Analytics Tag Manager, Google Universal Analytics and general web tracking desirable
