Position Summary
The Email Marketing Campaigns and
Database Manager is a hands-on expert in marketing automation (Marketo
preferred) who builds, deploys and manages multiple campaigns and reports on
all metrics. This candidate is an expert in digital marketing who is also
comfortable teaching others basic marketing automation skills so that our
organization can further develop its digital marketing capabilities. In
addition to a hands-on role setting up, executing, and optimizing email
campaigns yourself, you will also serve as the go-to resource to help others
learn how to set up successful campaigns across our global business segments.
In addition, this role calls for someone who can structure and execute analyses
resulting in actionable recommendations that senior leadership will use to
drive strategy.
Principal Responsibilities
Play a hands-on role creating and
executing email campaigns, landing pages, trigger campaigns, lead nurturing
campaigns, and other digital campaigns across a global organization.
- Continually test, measure, assesses and course-correct based on
metrics - Continually build the size and quality of the database while also
developing a comprehensive database segmentation plan - Work with internal database and CRM systems (SugarCRM)
Develop the digital marketing
capabilities of the company with ongoing upgrade recommendations and standard
maintenance
- Financial and account management responsibility for Marketo
- Train marketers globally on how to plan, develop, test, deploy and
thoroughly analyze direct marketing campaigns including email, lead nurturing,
trigger campaigns and other channels on their own - Establish a standard set of dashboards and reports to drive better
business decisions - Develop a standardized testing program to include A/B tests;
maintain and develop a systematic approach to split testing all direct
marketing campaigns - Introduce and enforce best practices across all users
- Communicate insights to management and other stakeholders in the
organization globally - Continually build the size and quality of the database while also
developing a comprehensive database segmentation plan - Stay abreast of trends in digital and direct marketing and be an
active team member in driving the direct marketing function forward with new
ideas and techniques to deliver more value to members and higher revenue for
the organization
Perform high-level analyses to
support senior management decision making
- Develop and test hypotheses and conduct analyses with large data
sets; data to be analyzed includes but is not limited to: customer database,
SEO metrics, Google AdWords, website metrics, email campaign metrics, business
unit customer segments, conference attendance data, communications data - Work with the marketing colleagues to measure/track how direct
marketing drives website traffic, website page performance, bounce rates and
other key metrics
Reporting Relationship/Team
- Reports to the Director of Content Marketing
- As a key member of the Marketing team, partners closely with the
Associate Director of Content Marketing and the Associate Director of Digital
Marketing
Requirements
- 5-10 years digital marketing experience with demonstrated success
delivering multi-channel campaigns with a deep understanding of email data,
execution and best practices. - Power user of marketing automation tools, e.g. Adobe Campaign,
Salesforce, Marketo, Eloqua - Experienced setting up complex, multi-trigger, multi-channel
campaigns - Strong quantitative, strategic, and data visualization skills
highly recommended, and working knowledge of HTML, CSS and responsive design - Effective time management and ability to work for a global
business spanning multiple time zones - Expert user of MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
