Job Description

We are a leading San Diego based agency looking for a Digital Marketing Director to innovate, strategize, manage, track and optimize our digital marketing efforts across all channels. Our client base is national and represents the top companies in their respective industries.
You should have a strong grasp of – and background in – current marketing tools and strategies and be able to lead managers and specialists in various digital disciplines to refine and improve each. As a part of senior management, the director will work with agency leadership and manage in-house resources across all clients and internal disciplines (account service, creative, search, social) to offer value, leadership and forward-looking insights.
As the Digital Marketing Director you will report directly to the President and CMO of the company.
Responsibilities
- Strategize, direct and manage SEO/SEM programs.
- Evaluate website, email and display performance and incorporate best practices
- Measure and report performance of digital marketing channels, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
- Develop content strategies and work with client & internal teams on developing and curating content
- Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
- Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
- Collaborate with internal teams to create strategize new and better ways to engage the consumer and optimize user experience
- Oversee, evaluate and improve social media presence tools and strategies
- Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
- Collaborate with vendor partners and consultants
- Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate
Requirements
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in marketing or a related field
- Proven working experience in digital marketing
- Demonstrable experience leading and managing SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns
- Experience in setting up, analyzing, optimizing and reporting on Google Adwords campaigns
- Experience with marketing automation, CRM/lead nurturing
- Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
- Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels
- Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
- Deep knowledge of website and social analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Simply Measured)
- Working knowledge of ad serving tools (e.g., Doubleclick)
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints, and comfort working in various CMS platforms
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
- Strong writer, presenter and comfortable working directly with senior level clientele
- Up-to-date with and hunger for the latest trends and best practices in technology, digital marketing and measurement
