Report to provide ALL activity of a Lead in one place

Report to provide ALL activity of a Lead in one place

As we are moving more towards Account Based Marketing we would like to have a report to analyse all activities taken by leads in a certain account. So, on a monthly basis we would like to pull a report to show all web activity, campaign activity, event attendees etc. for the leads in an account.

Wouldn't that be lovely. Or a snapshot of every program + status that a lead/account participated in.

You can sort-of do this with Interesting Moments and custom views in Sales Insight, by creating a separate view for each account of interest.  But this turns out to be more of a "last-interesting-moment-by-every-contact-in-the-account" view, rather than something that is truly comprehensive.

I would be thrilled with just a more robust/rich lead profile - similar to Sitecore's "Experience Profile":

We just migrated to Sitecore for our web CMS.  It'll be interesting to see which parts of Sitecore we end up using vs. Marketo's.  But, yeah, for those of us that sell into accounts - and never a single person - this will be mandatory one day.  Many of our sales and marketing leaders today question how our lead lifecycle is relevant to our business since we sell into existing accounts; and sell to many influencers, decison makers, etc.  It's more account-centric vs. lead-centric - especially for large global organizations.

Sales isn't becoming account-centric - it already is. Anyone who can only sell 1 to a company already gets it. We need the reporting to keep up.

But I'd be content just to see everything about one person like the thread's idea suggests. 🙂

You're absolutely right, Adam.  I actually asked this same question back in November and found out that the only way to do this is via the API.  https://community.marketo.com/MarketoDiscussionDetail?id=90650000000Pyl8AAC

Just thinking out loud here, but would something like this be possible in RCE?  Is there a report where we can select "Interesting Moments" among one of the dimensions?

Hi Dan,

I have tried to create a report in RCE to get this type of information but i have not been successful. The system will only give me the Last Interesting moment, not every interesting moment within a set time frame.
If you managed to create a report to show this please share 🙂

Thanks

That's what I feared.  So I guess RCE is not an option for reporting on all of the interesting moments for a specific lead/account.

I also like this idea. with regards to web activity, I'm working on defining what a new version of the web activity report will look like. Here are some of the use cases it would address:

  • Show me all of the web activity for all tracked pages on my site. Includes landing pages and web, anything with munchkin.
  • Show me all of the pages/URLS that have been viewed by anyone in the last 7 days (or other time period). We're exploring ways to surface page names (pulled from the title perhaps) for the web properties, that way it's not just a URL.
  • Show me all of the people and/or all of the companies looking at any page on my site in the last 3 days
  • Show me all of the pages that Sam Smith has viewed...
  • Show me all of the pages that people from ACME have viewed...
  • Which sources are sending (referring) the most web traffic to my site/to this specific page...This may include the URLs themselves but also the source, did this come from Facebook, from a link in an email etc.
  • Which pages have the highest conversion rate...this is relevant to pages with a form.

The idea is to create a unified web insights product where all of the above is accessible and connected (vs. today, this information is only available in separate reports if that.) A date range is required as well as continuing to separate known vs anonymous visitor activity. For anonymous, we're looking into grouping their activity - such as by inferred account. Lastly, we'd want to have a way to send this information to the sales team via a subscription of sorts.

All of the above is part of my evaluation and assessment into the future of this report. I'd love to gather your feedback and ideas if you have them. Please reach out to me directly and include a link to this idea: cfuentealba@marketo.com

Thanks,

Christina
