Outlook 2013 - Sales Insight Plug In Compatibilty

Outlook 2013 - Sales Insight Plug In Compatibilty

Microsoft is now starting to migrate new machines to the Office 2013 platform. The Sales Insight Plug-In for Outlook is not compatible with Office 2013 (only for 2010 version). This causes an issue for my new hires as they cannot track correspondence.

I would hope that this is already on the Roadmap for release, but after submitting a case to Marketo Support was told that I needed to submit Office 2013 Plug In as a 'new idea.'

Can we merge this Idea with this one: http://community.marketo.com/MarketoIdeaDetail?id=08750000000ImfNAAS (and combine the number of "Likes")?  Maybe this will strengthen our case on the urgency of this needed functionality.

Any updates on this?  Has anyone found any workarounds to the lack of Outlook 2013 support?  For instance, Salesforce has a "salesforce to email - email address" that one can CC instead of using the plugin to track outbound emails....does Marketo offer anything similiar?

This will be huge for a corporate initiative involving the tracking of Sales email activities.  Can we please get an update on when this might be available?  Thanks!

We just provisioned two new sales persons with laptops that have Outlook 2013.  This means that I will not be able to support the automation that that team depends on to these new hires and anyone on the team that gets a new laptop.  This is critical and without it, I will need to find another solution that can support tracking sales emails from Outlook 2013.

IT is pushing us to upgrade and new hires are getting 2013 out of the box. This is a must have or this plugin will be worthless soon.

We are moving all teams to Outlook 2013 in the next 30 days. What's going on Marketo, it is 2014 and still no support?

Here's a response from Marketo this morning regarding this plugin. I want to share so you know the lies we have been fed regarding its release

"So currently we actually don't have a specific timeline on the Outlook 2013 plugin. The reason behind this is due to the fact that most of our customers are still using outlook 2010.

That and the Outlook plugin is only a smart part of the Marketo experience, and while we strive to live up to all of our awesome customers expectations, our developement team is working hard to bring a faster, more streamlined Marketo.

I am sure that once we are done refreshing Marketo, how it works, and the hardware that makes all of this possible, our developement team will begin work on the plugin. "

it's only a "smart part" of the experience? frueidian typo if I ever did see one. That's fustratign that they won't admint their users are on 2013. How do they know what most of their users use?

I'm just so frustrated by this. There is no reason they can't staff up to handle this need. It is a major problem for AT MINIMUM 150 of their customers who have voted up this and the other identical IDEA post.
