Marekto and HTML, why is it difficult?

I place perfect code into a blank email template (I want my own custom format) and Marketo reformats the HTML automatically and refuses to generate the layout I want. Any tricks to help me get around this?

try pasting your code first in CSS inliner http://zurb.com/ink/inliner.php - certainly with responsive HTML email layouts you should do this

I never use the Marketo WYSIWYG editorfor that very reason. When you're creating your email, go to Email Actions > HTML Tools > Replace HTML, and you can paste your raw code into the HTML editor.

Take a look at the backend of the link you posted.  The text that shows has the address formatted properly, but what comes after the your a href="http//developers.merketo...".  

Toss in the colon , that way the link resolves to where you want.
