I have several forms where I have the Field Label value blank and use the Hint Text field value as the Field Label. This makes the form appear thinner and shorter. However Field Label is not an option on Select field types. It would make things much easier if it was.
Example: Field Set-up:

Default value is "Select"

Add a new choice "Select Country" and choose it as the new default

Mark field as mandatory
Result:

New default is solid black instead of grey like the Hint Text of the free form fields so visual consistency is lost

The new default value can be accepted as the submitted value instead of forcing the lead to select a value
Perhaps this can be controlled via custom javascript, but I'm not a developer and having to involve one is time consuming.
