Just as smart campaigns are powerful in Marketo, workflow rules are powerful in SFDC. However, if your workflow requires branching logic, building a SFDC flow (or visual flow) is the way to go.
As I sit here using the new SFDC process builder to trigger and launch these flows, it occured to me how easily I could cut out the middle man (the process builder) if Marketo could launch a SFDC flow directly.
For example, our lead assignment rules are too complicated to scale well in Marketo, but if Marketo could launch the flow for lead assignments in SFDC, the problem is solved.
