how can i put a mailto in an email that doesn't open a browser window?

in my marketo email I have an email link (mailto:name@email.com) that works properly and opens the default mail client on the recipient's machine but it also opens the default browser to a blank page.

how can I get the mail client to open from a mailto link in a received marketo email without opening the default browser as well?
