Copy and paste into email editor causes extra characters

Does anyone else have issues copying email copy into the editor?  I typically convert my copy into rich text by copying it into notepad before copying it into Editor.  Is there a more direct way to get this accomplished?

You can paste the copy into the editor, keep the item you pasted highlighted or selected, click on the eraser icon, it looks like an eraser next to the A to B or binocular icons, that should remove any formatting you don't want.
