Universal ID across different accounts

I love the idea of Universal ID but was really disappointed to discover it only works with multiple instances under the same account.

As an agency partner I'd love to see the ability to use Universal ID across multiple accounts, too. It'd streamline our lives, and probably make instances more secure without the need for documenting all the different logins and passwords for all our clients!

Hi Grace,

I think you are asking for the ability to switch between Company A, B and C using one user id.  If yes, we already have this ability.  Since you are not an official employee of these companies, you will need to ask the admin (authorized support contact) of each of these companies to enable universal id for their subscriptions via a support ticket.

Hey Calvin,

We logged tickets with Marketo support and they've said that universal ID only works for different instances under the one account (e.g. production vs sandbox) and wouldn't allow me to switch between my different unrelated clients under the one ID (posted this idea on their recommendation, actually).

Hmmm! Would be great if you can confirm either way.

Hi Grace,

I can confirm that UID will work for subscriptions of different accounts (not just production and sandbox) with some caveats to SSO (see Using a Universal ID for Subscription Login - Marketo Docs - Product Docs)

The only condition is that you will need to ask an official employee (admin, authorized support contact) of this company to submit an UID support request for such instance.
