Selective Program Member synchronization (by member status)

Selective Program Member synchronization (by member status)

When synchronizing programs with SFDC campaigns, all members are synch'ed, which implicitly pushes leads to SFDC. It tend to push leads to SFDC quite early, which is not desired, all the more so as it will have side effects later, with regards to assignment (see here ). workaround exist in SFDC through lead queues and workflows, but it requires cooperation from SFDC admins that is not necessarily easy to get.

So I would like to be able, when we create channel statuses, to decide which one would be pushed as campaign member statuses in SFDC and would trigger an implicit lead creation in SFDC. This would just take the form of a check box, similar to the "Success" checkbox.

This would be great!

Merçi Grégoire !

I was thinking the same thing months ago. Right now -- for my own sanity -- i use the campaign sync to create the sfdc campaign and get all the status moved over then disconnect and do some minor edits in sfdc ie: parent campaigns + costs (wouldn't that be nice to set up as part of the setup/sync ). While I can do this inside of about a minute of actual work (sans the wait time for the statuses to meander on over to SFDC), it would save so much time being able to standardize what and how we sync programs with sfdc campaigns.

Cheers,
David

As a new Marketo customer this has been a little challenging for us as well. We want to take advantage of the Sync between Marketo and SFDC but I only want certain program members synced (certainly not an enter invite list for example). Would love to see this ability become available!.

If you are working with invite lists, you can create sub email programs within your event, webinar and default programs.

I leverage these for that exact reason... since technically these invitees are not in the parent program -- which could be in a syncopated rhythm with salesforce, you know turning those beats around... There is no need to worry...

Something like this...

I like the idea Greg

We had this issue when we first moved to Marketo in that we were synching over EVERYBODY who was added to a campaign (not fun when you import 10k leads).

We still to this day, create the sync in the setup tab as David said. We then disconnect it by deleting it and in our Smart Campaigns only sync over the relevant statuses (such as Registered/Attended...... and so on).

If we could have something like this automatically it would be very useful.

I had a huge issue recently where my sfdc api calls from marketo tripled in one day. It turned out it was due to a few in-line flow sync steps across a number of programs. The solution was oddly simple duplicate the program and for events just add an event asset insite the event... check out my reply to Syncing campaigns/programs with SFDC but not all of its members. Though if you are going to update all programs to this type of framework -- do it in stages since you will likely use a number of SFDC API calls to update your programs. But way better in the long run.
