Make Marketo Form row heights look deep / fat, like modern websites

Make Marketo Form row heights look deep / fat, like modern websites

I can't seem to find any info on how to make a Marketo form row look like more modern site registration forms, like the ones here:
https://sprint.ly/#pricing
http://newrelic.com/ (see the popup)
https://www.techvalidate.com/login
http://ethn.io/login

Seems like we just can't do this in Marketo. I think we need modern-looking forms!
If you agree please "like" - if you know how to do this in Marketo's Form Designer, please tell me how!

Lori,

The answer to your question is three little letters: CSS.

The code behind Marketo's forms makes it a bit difficult, but you can use CSS and some javascript (usually jQuery since it's already loaded) to transform Marketo forms into beautiful modern forms.

Here's one I modeled to look like the default WordPress Genesis Framework:

Alternatively, you could not use MKTO forms and do an api connection in from your WCM/DAM page that you make look however you'd like.

Thanks, Jason and Brigid - am trying to do this myself (no coding background, a one-person marketing dept) but will share your thoughts with the web developers I know and see how we can get there from skinny-row-here.

I agree! It would be great if Marketo changed the look and feel of the forms. Sometimes it's hard when you don't have a developer in house, and it just adds that extra step for busy marketers.

Okasana, totally in sync with you on the "if you don't have a developer in-house" issue. Marketo grew by making self-help and campaign creation easier for busy marketers. I sure hope they can do the same for form design!

Lori et al,

In their recent roadshow presentations, they have stated that better forms and newer design trends (like mobile-friendly/responsive design) will be making their way into the product soon and are a high-priority for the development of the platform.

Shameless plug alert...In the meantime, you can find a resource skilled in HTML/CSS/Javascript or use an agency with experience in Marketo and creative/design, like The Pedowitz Group 🙂
