Is it possible to create a Field using the REST API?
I would like to programmatically create fields. How would I go about doing this?

Currently, the only way to create new fields is through Field Management. It is not yet possible through the API.

As Will said this is currently not possible, it is possible to get a list of available fields via Describe REST API.
