Hello, We are about to run a very large tagging campaign to our existing customer SFDC "contacts", before we do this, is this actually necessary? Or could we just use the SFDC stay in touch tool and cause interaction that way?
I'm concerned that we're duplicating an existing solution in SFDC. Any ideas?
In order to "tag" someone, Marketo must be able to link a cookie on their machine with a record, usually via an email address. Since your SFDC stay-in-touch does not contain a trackable Marketo link, it will not accomplish this.
You will need to send out a Marketo email and have the leads click a link in that email to accomplish the "tagging" process.
