How to exclude members of a program from a SFDC campaign sync?

I'm syncing members by program to SFDC campaigns in order to set up scheduled email reports of incoming lead lists. It's working great, given that Marketo doesn't have this feature yet.

There are 3 programs from my early Marketo days that I didn't set up to sync with SFDC initially. So now the Member First Associated Date in SFDC is set to the day I set up the sync. This is problematic for me because I'm running reports in SFDC to capture # of leads that came into the campaign within the first week, first month, etc.

I know Marketo has that information - as I'm able to run a smart list on date filled out form. But how can I bring that info into SFDC easily?

My last resort would be to export that Marketo data, and then run vlookups against the SFDC campaign member data to update and upsert that date field.

Thanks!

Hey, Christine, even your last resort option doesn't actually quite get it done because you can't write to the standard SFDC "Campaign First Associated Date".

Here's the Idea to change that (from two years ago!):

Meanwhile, the work-around is to create your own date field (and a workflow rule to mimic the functionality) - and then you can upload your own data retroactively to this new custom field.

Another option is to switch reports to "Lead Create Date" to the extent that filling out a form is largely associated with a new lead creation too (depending on how many repeat fillsouts you have).

No easy options here 🙂

That's an interesting question Christine. You may have to do that manual option at the end there. I think if you are the SFDC admin you may be able to update the Campaign Member Record first assoc. date. Never tried though.

Holy moly - I just assumed I could write to the campaign member first associated date! Bummer. I'll look into your first solution, as the second doesn't work bc we get mostly repeats.
