A/B testing form CTA text

Hi there,

What's the easiest way to be able to A/B test two LPs which are identical bar the form CTA button text?  Do I have to employ two forms for this?

How do I scale this to use across a wide range of programmes?

Thanks!

Luben

Hi Luben,

Yes, basically two different landing pages and then you put them into a test group.

Check out this  https://docs.marketo.com/display/public/DOCS/Landing+Page+Test+Groups  and this https://nation.marketo.com/community/product_and_support/blog/2018/12/18/ab-testing-your-landing-pag...

Re: A/B testing form CTA text

Thanks for the speedy response Matjaž,

I guess I did not make myself clear.  I know the principles of A/B testing an LP.

But I'm trying to find a way to test the form CTA without having to have multiple forms.

We use global forms and the thought of abandoning global forms and creating two forms for each AB test we want to run fills me with dread.

Just wanted to check whether there would be an easier way that will allow us to A/B test the form submit button text whilst keeping the number of forms manageable.

I am not aware that this is possible to deploy on a form just out of the box; and then also run reporting on it.

Re: A/B testing form CTA text

Hey Luben, while I can't take any credit for the solution, it looks like there are a few ideas in the community here: https://nation.marketo.com/message/185421-change-submit-button-text-by-simple-css

In most cases, I've seen this done with javascript that'll wait for the form to load and then change the text in the button. In the best of cases it's seamless, if you're on a slower connection or the forms take longer to load for some reason I've seen the "SUBMIT" text show first and then kinda blink and show the updated text when the script runs to change the button text because that's usually the last thing to render on a page.

Hope this helps you to find a solution so you can streamline your A/B testing.

Thanks a lot Dave.  This looks like it might work.  I'll give that a go.

Have a good day!
