Value not showing up for field AnonymousIP

We are trying to add customer details to Marketo using ReST API. But the value is not showing up for field AnonymousIP, instead it remains as null for all the records.

 

When we tried to import a record from CSV, the notes against AnonymousIP is shown as “Blocked(System Managed)”.

Is the AnonymousIP a system managed field? Isn't it possible to write or update to such a field?

If it is not possible to write or update to such a field, then do we need to use a custom field for keeping AnonymousIP?
