Hi I have just introduced Marketo to the business and I would be keen to understand how other people ensure they have robust lead tracking in Marketo and Salesforce.
I have lead source set up and I have just tested syncing a program and campaign between the two interfaces so that it pre-populates a lead witht he campaign information, but for leads which arent going through from Marketo to Salesforce eg Phone calls what process do I need to ask Sales to follow to ensure we track these leads against specific campaigns rather than just Lead source which is very high level?
Any examples of how you are doing this would be great, bearing inmind I am new to Marketo!
Normally for phone calls, the leads are simply entered into Salesforce. To my knowledge, Marketo cannot track phone calls and it is not part of any Marketo campaign. Salesforce would be collecting all the Marketo campaign information and the phone call information for the leads.
