A sales rep reached out concerned that Marketo had changed the name of one of his customers in SFDC from the legal name to his alternate name.
After reviewing this contact's activity log in Marketo, it appears that the name was changed after a list was uploaded into Marketo referencing the contact with a different name.
I have two questions based on this incident:
- Is it normal for Marketo to overwrite a contact's name in Salesforce following a sync?
- What filters or criteria can be used to prevent Marketo from updating a person's name in Salesforce?
