    GDPR compliancy - form examples

    Jessica Batt

      Wondering if anyone has any great examples of Marketo forms built to get European customers to opt in to email communications?

      We are putting a form onto a landing page and keen to see some effective examples.

      We haven't yet done a sync to our CRM so will require collecting all contact details to capture the user properly.

      Also, is there somewhere in Marketo where we can enter details on how that user opted in to email communications?

          Our company has a great blog post that covers what is necessary for a GPDR-compliant form as well as some visual examples: http://learn.perkuto.com/resources/gdpr-requirements-for-consent-what-you-need-to-know

          Regarding your question about how to track the details in Marketo about how a lead opted in, you have a few options.

          • Create a Milestone interesting moment that records it when a person fills out the opt-in form. You could use system and trigger tokens to record the date and page, such as this: This person opted in to all communications on {{system.dateTime}} on this page: {{trigger.Web Page}}
          • Create custom fields (may consider building these in your CRM first so they map correctly to Marketo for Opted-In Date and Opted-In Details. Opted In details could store specific details such as the page name or other ways you wish to track such as a specific campaign, such as "Whitelisting Campaign - May 2018"
