Re: Dynamics 365/Marketo Integration
Dan Stevens. Nov 30, 2017 8:47 AM (in response to 4ff50dc5eadbb5ec92d6192340660ee14dbc8696)1 of 1 people found this helpfulI'm surprised that Marketo is telling you this. Their connector should fully support Dynamics 365. We're on 365 - and have been for almost a year now. The main issue that we've been dealing with is having new/updated CRM users (members of marketing/sales) sync over to Marketo. That's not happening for us. We have to manually resync the user entity to ensure all relevant users are available in Marketo (e.g., lead assignment, sending of real-time alerts, etc.).
As an FYI, we initially integrated with Marketo and Dynamics 2011 online back in 2013.

Thank you for the response. When you upgraded to the 365 connector did you do it yourself or have a 3rd party involved? Would you recommend a certain 3rd party to help us with the integration?

Dan Stevens. Dec 15, 2017 12:42 PM (in response to 4ff50dc5eadbb5ec92d6192340660ee14dbc8696)Hi Sari - sorry for the delayed reply, I didn't even see the notification in my inbox. Just happened to be browsing around here as a result of this gem of a finding ([Accounts Tip] Company Name Mismatch ). When we upgraded the connector, it was done by our internal IT team - we didn't use a 3rd party. It was essentially effortless. But then again we were already using MSD online (in the cloud). When we transitioned from on-premise to the cloud, that took some additional work.
I also saw your request to connect. I'll reply back to that separately.

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately the integration for our company with Marketo & 365 has been too much of a issue and our executives have decided to cut the cord with Marketo. I appreciate your help on this.

Dustin Russell Jan 25, 2018 2:49 PM (in response to 4ff50dc5eadbb5ec92d6192340660ee14dbc8696)Hi Sari,
My company has decided to upgrade to MSD 365 in the cloud from 2016 on-premise and I too am searching the community for advice. Your last comment here has me a bit concerned. For our sake I'm hoping our attempt goes much better than yours.

Dustin Russell Hey Dustin, I've been doing an extensive amount of research on this lately, as we are upgrading not only our Dynamics, but also a second data source that we are integrating. If you want to chat I am happy to share what I've learned from all of the vendor partners I have interviewed. Let me know.

We actually couldn't get the support we needed and ended up canceling our contract. That's not to say that your integration won't go well...For our business it wasn't the right fit but there are a ton of customers that have integrated 365 & Marketo and it has worked. I would really recommend hiring a middle person to help you with the integration. LeadMD is an excellent company. I ended up finding them after we had canceled our contract so we couldn't work with them but they know their stuff.

Matjaž Jaušovec Oct 4, 2018 4:08 AM (in response to Dan Stevens.)Hi Dan Stevens ,
we are also looking into Dynamics upgrade from on-prem to cloud. You said that "When we transitioned from on-premise to the cloud, that took some additional work.". Can you maybe explain a bit more and/or point to potential issues we should be careful about?
Huge thanks;m

Re: Dynamics 365/Marketo Integration
Dan Stevens. Oct 4, 2018 5:29 AM (in response to Matjaž Jaušovec)Since we provide direct links to the lead record in all of our alerts, it was necessary to reflect the base URL of your cloud instance in your link references, as well as any other structural changes that make up the full URL. For example ours looks like this now:
https://avanade.crm.dynamics.com/main.aspx?etc=4&id=%7b{{lead.Avanade MSDID}}%7d&pagetype=entityrecord
Where {{lead.Avanade MSDID}} is the GUID of the lead record in CRM.
