[Support Tip] What Version of Marketo's Lead Management Solution have I downloaded?

    Paul Wilson

      Hello!

Great question from Lorie Witmer about how to tell what version of MLM or MSI you have downloaded from Marketo prior to installing those solutions in Microsoft Dynamics. To tell what version you have downloaded is (currently) a little challenging.

Here's how to find the version number of solution package you have downloaded:

Step 1: Navigate to Admin, Microsoft Dynamics in Marketo

Step 2: Download the appropriate version from the Admin tab in Marketo (NOTE: Currently the links for Lead Management and for Sales Insight for Dynamics 2015 and Dynamics 2016 both download a solution package called MarketoLeadManagementDynamics2015.zip or MarketoSalesInsightDynamics2015.zip so if you are running Dynamics 2016 or Dynamics 365 despite the file name saying Dynamics 2015 it is the correct package.)

Step 3: Unzip the package that you downloaded

Step 4: Open the solution.xml file in a text editor

      open the solution.xml.pngScreen Shot 2017-05-03 at 1.14.48 PM.png

Step 5: and look for <Version> in the file to identify the specific version number you downloaded.

      locate version number of MLM.png

Step 6: Compare it with the versions you have installed in Microsoft Dynamics

If the version you downloaded is more recent that what you have installed (in the above images you see that the version installed is 4.0.0.17 while the downloaded version is 4.0.0.21) then you may want to consider updating the solution packages in Microsoft Dynamics!

Please comment if you have additional tips related to this support tip.
