    Unable to sync all picklist values from Lead Status field

      Hi,

       

      I use two custom fields (Lead Status and Contact Status) to track in Salesforce where our Leads/Contacts stand in our lifecycle. These two fields are mapped together.

       

      Picklist values of these fields are  identical, except for "Upsell or Repeat" that I anyway do not use at all. There is no issue with our Marketo User in Salesforce, which can see and change all the values. All of these fields are in use at least once and the Activity Logs in Marketo show well all the changes when they occur.

       

      You can find below the Contact Status values (first screenshot) and the Lead Status values (second screenshot).

      And here is my issue: I can see all of these values in Marketo and use them in flows, except "Renewal" for the Lead Status. I can't directly change the values on the leads' pages in Marketo (tab "SFDC Custom Fields", next to "Activity Log"), either.

       

      Then, my questions are:

      1. What should I do to be able to use the Renewal Lead Status in Marketo?

      2. As far as I understand from other discussions, I should not be able to see the Upsell or Repeat status in Marketo, as I don't use it and as it is not a value included in the Lead Status picklist values. So why can I use it properly?

       

      The Community has been of great help to answer my many questions so far, but I can't find any solution for this one in the discussions.

          How recent did you sync the fields? It may still be processing.

           

          Have you tried to test forcing the "renewal" status into the field by typing it in manually?

           

          The values may take some time to appear.

            If no lead in Marketo has a value in a Picklist, Marketo won't show that value in its drop down. You can paste or type that value into any Filter or Change Data Value.

             

            And SFDC should accept it.

             

            When you say you cannot modify the PickList value - do you mean that "Renewal" isn't accepted, or that Marketo does not allow the field to be modified on the Lead Detail?

                That is what I thought but one of my leads has this status (I changed the value in Salesforce) and Marketo still doesn't show the value in the picklist, although the Activity Log shows a change has occurred. And on the opposite, I can see "Upsell or Repeat", which is not in use at the moment.

                 

                I already tried to paste "Renewal" into a Change Data Value filter. It modifies the field both in Salesforce and Marketo, but the status still isn't in any picklist. In fact, I could use the Lead Status field this way in Marketo, but it is neither convenient nor very safe for future modifications.

                 

                To answer your last question, Marketo does not allow the field to be modified at all.

                I would assume you have figured this out by now, however I think the issue is that your picklists don't line up exactly. I was running into a similar issue where the picklist values were the same between the lead and the contact, aside from three additional values on the contact side. Marketo could see all of the picklist values that were shared between the picklists on the two objects, but couldn't see the values that were only on the contact picklist. Once I added in the values to the lead picklist (they aren't selectable on the picklist on the actual lead, just on the picklist in the backend), Marketo was able to see all of the picklist values.
