You can still use a smart campaign within that program to track email statistics. The smart campaign will still have the "Emails" tab where you can see the overall statistics.
If you go into the "Results" tab, you can filter to only show email related history and get data that way as well.
You can also add smart lists to the program that culminate the names of those who were sent the email as well as those who opened it or clicked any links within the email.
