Well, we do it in a different way. Since everyone that gets our emails is already in Salesforce, we change the member status to show as open, click, etc. Then we have calcuating fields that populate the information into Salesforce from there. It's not 100% perfect with what Marketo shows but it's really close.

And by calculating fields you mean default Marketo-SFDC field mapping ot something else?
I do all email blasts in a marketo program then sync the program to an SFDC campaign. By updating the member status as Amber explained (opened, clicked, I have a "clicked offer" too in case it's coming from sales which includes their email signature that has additional links). Then you can just do a sfdc campaaign report and group on member status.
