Marketing Automation Manager in Santa Monica, CA

The Marketing Automation Manager will lead and support marketing teams in developing and executing marketing campaigns based on cyclical marketing strategies, through automated campaign activities via Marketo including building, deploying and tracking campaign performance via reports along with dashboards.


Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Leads and supports marketing teams in developing and executing marketing campaigns based on cyclical marketing strategies.

  • Manage automated campaign activities via Marketo including building, deploying and tracking campaign performance via reports along with dashboards.
  • Segment and leverage the marketing database for efficient and effective campaign targeting; generate and implement test strategies, including A/B multi-variant testing.
  • Develop responsive email and landing page templates. 
  • Execute campaigns leveraging the Customer Engagement Engine function within Marketo.
  • Create and manage lead scoring, sourcing tracking, triggered communications, Revenue Cycle Modeler and Explorer Dashboard within Marketo.
  • Communicate specific trends, issues, targets and opportunities using analytics.

Coordinates data governance including the Marketo + Salesforce.com integration and data management between the two systems.

  • Liaise with CRM team to identify areas of data inaccuracy and communicate with user community to correct data and update Salesforce.com and/or Marketo.
  • Maintain data quality (accuracy and cleanliness) through KPI’s and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain on-going data clean-up
  • Support organization in the understanding of data controls and consistency.
  • Communicate specific trends, issues, targets and opportunities using analytics.

Supports the adoption of marketing automation within the a various marketing groups across the company

  • Create documentation outlining developed solutions as a reference for other platform team members and/or how-to guides for campaign configuration teams,
  • Act as the Marketing Automation System “power user” for the company and provide first-level support for platform-related issues


Position Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of marketing operations and campaign management.
  • Knowledge of data structures, query and reporting tools.
  • Experience developing and implementing reporting programs in marketing automation and CRM platforms, specifically Marketo and Salesforce.
  • Strong knowledge of A/B testing best practices.
  • Big picture data analysis, focusing on data that accurately measures actionable results, versus purely measuring meaningless activity.
  • Experience in analyzing digital marketing campaigns of varying complexity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Math, Physical Sciences, Economics, Engineering, or related quantitative field, or the equivalent in experience, combined with at least five years marketing or marketing operations experience.

Other Preferred Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Math, Physical Sciences, Economics, Engineering, or related quantitative field, or the equivalent in experience, combined with at least five years marketing.
  • 3+ years of experience with a marketing automation platform in one of the following Marketo, Eloqua or Pardot.
  • 3+ Years of administrative experience with CRM platforms such as SalesForce.com, Netsuite, Sugar, etc.
  • Experience working with a sales and marketing or digital advertising company is preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed to relevant trade shows is required.
