Yes! The "Unsubscribed" field will unsubscribe them completely to all emails, unless those are marked as "Operational" (which they shouldn't be, for any marketing communications).
Your current process seems like it could be made much more efficient in lots of ways.
Even if you are trying to control for more granular list maintenance (in the case the person does not completely unsubscribe) I don't see a need to remove them from the list AND add them to a blacklist. Simply removing them from Magazine 1 list should be sufficient.
There are a lot of articles on this topic if you do a search here.
I would generally only use Unsubscribed=T for the requests people ask to be removed. Blacklisting fully blocks ALL email types and it not legally the same as the Unsubscribed field.
Thx for the reference
Thanks everyone! That makes so much sense to me, its a bit tricky when you don't have a port of call in house to just ask these things to :-)
I think originally they removed the lead from list and then added to blacklist, to make sure if the lead came back in from another source they didn't go back on the list!
So now i'm looking at a dedupe list for these people to speed up the process.
Thanks again everyone :-)
