How to Have a New Field in Salesforce Sync to Marketo

I just created a new field in Salesforce. What are the steps to have this sync with Marketo?

Hello Danielle,

In most cases just wait 5 minutes and it will be created in Marketo.

I assume you created a lead field, if you create a contact field with the same name and API name and map the lead field to the contact field on conversion, you will get them both mapped to a single field in Marketo.

Best,

Pavel

Hi Pavel,

Thanks for the response. I created a new lead field AND a new contact field. Are you able to go into detail on how to exactly go about adding the contact field to Marketo?

If you used the same field name (and API name), the same Marketo field will be mapped to both Lead and Contact fields in SFDC. In the field properties, it will look something like this (in this case the field name is called Lead Source Detail):

1 addition to this is that you want to make sure that you go into the "Set Field-Level Security" section on the field and make sure that you have the user that you use to sync data between the systems checked as "visible". In my case, our user is called "Talend Marketo Integration" so that user would have to be checked as "visible" for the field to sync to Marketo.

If it is already checked, what Pavel said applies. If not, check the box and wait 5 or so minutes. It should appear.

I checked the permissions, everyone is able to see this field. I also checked again and it's still not appearing in Marketo. Even though it was synced 6 minutes after I created it in Salesforce.
