What I do typically is to use a CSV file with just email addresses (column heading Email Address), for our internal people to whom I wish to send the seed list test, assuming this is a similar circumstance to what you are attempting...
Under my program I create a static List called "Seed List", and import my CSV file to that list.
The reason I only use email address is that our leads are (99% of the time) already the lead database, and Marketo will automatically detect and pull in the full lead detail.
In addition, from there I create a Smart Campaign to send the same email that would be going to my full audience where the Smart List is:
- Member of List = "My Program.Seed List"
Thanks Geoffrey! Curious: How do you handle suppression lists in Marketo?
We have a Smart List that qualifies our leads as "Emailable" based on a number of factors.
Filters of this list are:
- Email address = is not empty
- Unsubscribed = False
- Marketing Suspended = False
- Blact Listed = False
- Email Invalid = False
Thank you again! This helps quite a bit.
No worries Andrew.
