I'm in the process of training out BDA team about when to use the Marketo Outlook Plug-in vs. when to use the function within SFDC. And one question was raised that I can't find the answer to:
Can we track all emails sent as part of a conversation with a prospect - i.e. if 10 emails were sent back and forth, would all of the outbound emails be tracked if using the 'Send with marketo' button? They were told only the first per day would be tracked - which is correct so I can make the correct decision with what plug-in's (Marketo or SFDC) they should use within Outlook.
From what I know, what will happen once a day is the fact that an activity (task) will be logged in SFDC when a sales email is sent.
But all emails sent through the outlook plug-in will be racked (in term of delivered/opened/clicked) and will show up in the email section of the Sales Insight plug-in in SFDC.
