How to identify non-syncing leads to delete them?

We’re putting a custom filter on our SFDC-Marketo sync to keep certain records from syncing to Marketo that we still need in SFDC. Once we activate the filter, what’s the best way to identify and delete those leads from Marketo? Can we use the “SFDC is Deleted” field to identify them? Because even though they’ll technically still be in SFDC, will Marketo think they're deleted if it can't see them?
