Does "has opportunity" only refer to the lead attached to an opp?

Does "has opportunity" only refer to the lead attached to an opp?

I'm creating a smartlist and I don't want any account that has an opportunity to get the email. So I did "has opportunity = false". Is this only catching the leads who are attached to an opportunity? It's not catching them at the account level is it? Meaning my salespeople would have to attach their contacts to an opportunity in order for this to work properly?

You're right, Sara, "has opportunity" is a filter determined by contacts who are attached directly to an opportunity within the CRM. It relies on your salespeople to attach the contacts to the opportunity unless you have workflows set up to do this automatically.

Yep - Sara - this is what you're concerned about. If your sales team uses "Contact Roles" on Opportunities then everything will work fine with those specific contacts. However anyone they DON'T attach to that opportunity will be eligible for this email.
