I would recommend investigating how often you are firing certain data management clean-up efforts (are your triggers tight enough), how often do they need to fire (daily, weekly, monthly), schedule them during "off hours" when possible, and if you can use use your CRM to help the processing power, you can reduce the burden on the Marketo campaign engine.

I agree with Brigid. Also, for individual campaigns make sure you are using filters to their full capacity. In the smart lists, make sure you use all filters and exclusions there instead of in the flow (sometimes ppl include some in the flow) if possible so fewer ppl have to run through each time.
