Fairly sure that the consistent parameter to spot adwords refs with is [gclid=].
We've seen various formats come through for our Google AdWords leads. We use the following flow steps to appropriately assign Google Organic vs. Google AdWords:
Choice 1: Original Referrer CONTAINS "adwords, googleads, gclid="
Change Lead Source to "Google AdWords
Choice 2: Original Referrer CONTAINS "Google"
Change Lead Source to "Google Organic"
Since the first choice is the only one that applies, all the non-paid links are assumed to be organic.
"gclid=" will appear on referrals from both Google's paid search and display ad networks. If you want to differentiate display ads from paid search ads, the Original Referrer for display ads will start with "http://googleads". To differentiate Google natural search referrals, the Original Referrer will contain "google." and the Original Search Engine will be "Google".
